Hmm....
This showed up in our mailbox today. It is important to note this is for a client of ours, not our domain Im1.com . This client has never had any contact with commodo- this is UCE. It seems they are interrogating the cert information fields on live servers to create their marketing list. This would not bother me if they were picking up the phone and contacting our client. Automated data collection and UCE are not acceptable to me as a business practice. I suppose they do not realize that the majority of certs are sold with the web host holding hands to the end user. As that can be the only explanation, I am amazed they would set about alienating their own prospect base and the very companies they need to partner with to get the clients. Price alone won't do it, but it is an issue. Anyone have any strong urges about these rascals? (I know I do). UCE is something we have come to expect from the incumbents, not the newbies.
