Sorry Chuck, I should have mentioned the date. That report is one of the very few I've seen in the media. And I do feel a lot of it is still the same. I was trying to help out a customer last night whose domain is on "register lock" (borrowing the terminology from DRoA's letters) at Enom and the registration service provider is DRoA. This makes DRoA guilty of what they are warning about. Also after sending that link to the list, I finished reading the user comments and this one really floored me. Is this a person totally clueless or a verisign operative? "I believe the domain name competition is very healthy. This has brought down the price of the domain names, and also brought Network Solutions (Verisign) down off their "high horse" so they actually give decent customer service. They've also simplified their website so one can easily navigate through it and understand what they're doing. There was a day when I couldn't wait to get away from Network Solutions because of their attitude, but now I work with them because of it. Even if I pay a little more for their domain names it's the most secure place to purchase them. Donna Ebeling January 10, 2002"
