I'm reasonably certain that I know the answer to this question but I
have had a request from a client that owns a number of domains that
they'd like them to all renew on the same date. If there was a
stipulation that you had to pay for a minimum of a year plus then the
number of months to move the renewal to the date you'd like he'd be fine
with that. As it sits now he's making many payments a year. Obviously
as his registration agent we're happy to bill him once a year for
everything but he doesn't see that as clean as having them all actually
renew on the same date. I guess he doesn't really trust our/OpenSRS
"auto renew domain" function and therefore monitors them to ensure that
they actually renewed when they were supposed to. He'd much rather look
through the whole list once a year and then not have to check again
until next year.

I'm guessing that there is some sort of Top Level registry requirement
that renewals happen on the anniversaries of original registration dates
but as I know that many renewal dates moved when CIRA came into being
perhaps it is not as carved in stone as I am lead to believe.

If anyone knows that renewal date can be changed please let me know.

Cheers.
