Hi All,

This particular scam made the rounds about a year ago, but
it seems to have popped up again.  Thought you might be 
interested.

We got a fax from "Internet Support Group" today listing
one of our domain names but with a different gTLD.  The fax 
is titled "Urgent Notice of Domain Extension" and looks very 
legal and official.

The actual verbiage is very confusing, and makes the recipient
think that they're in danger of losing the name to a 
competitor if they don't "consent to third party registration".

Here's a snippet:

    Please be advised that the above noted domain name has now 
    become available for registration.  Consequently the possibility 
    of conflicting domain name registrations may occur.

    IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE UNITED STATES LEGAL CODE
    TITLE 15, Sec 1125.  False description, and dilution of 
    Trademarks and the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution (UDRP)

    Be advised: Protecting a domain name registrant or trademark 
    owner from confusing and.ir conflicting domain name 
    registration is not the responsibility of the domain and 
    trademark registration process.  In the event of a registration 
    of the adove noted domain by a third party, the UDRP may be
    applied under the following conditions...

    SUBMIT TO US YOUR CONSENT OR OPPOSITION TO A THIRD PARTY
    DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION AND EXPRESSLY ADVISE US OF YOUR
    INTENT TO EITHER CONSENT TO AN APPLICATION OR TO LICENSE
    THIS DOMAIN NAME PRIOR TO THE EXPIRATION OF THIS NOTICE.
