Looks like you received the standard drone response when a
consumer requests when a specific domain under Verisign aka Network
Solutions Registrar will be deleted.
You need to get to Verisign REGISTRY unit and ask them.
Verisign Registrar is supposed to be completely separate from the
Registry.
The Registry should be deleting on the 4th or 5th sometimes
6th day from the delete command by any Registrar.... but I have seen cases when
a domain that was given delete command by the Registrar still sat undeleted by
Registry for many many weeks. Not one case, many many cases.
hope this helps a little
cheers

Subject: Domain Drops
Hello All,
I've been watching for a few domains to drop
for a couple of clients of mine.
A couple of them are well over 90 days past
expiration. Their previous registrars
say that they were submitted to VGRS weeks ago
for deletion. I enquired about this with VGRS. Below is the response I
received. <snip>
Dear Mr. Petersen,
Thank you for contacting
VeriSign.
VeriSign, Inc., periodically deletes domain names that are
up for deletion in bulk since bulk deletion better enables us to insure
that only those domain names that are actually up for deletion are properly
deleted (as compared to running a deletion process).
The dates on
which these bulk deletions occur are arbitrarily selected by our
engineering department based upon system loading and other technical
factors. In order to protect against an overload of our systems, we
do not disclose these deletion dates.
You may, therefore, either
continue to check our site for the availability of the domain name and
attempt to obtain it through the public registration process, contact
http://www.snapnames.comto attempt to back-order this domain, or, in the alternative,
contact the listed registrant directly and discuss the possibility
of executing a registrant name change agreement.
To visit our WHOIS
database to locate registrant information for a domain, please go
to:

Ok, first off...Wow!! What a boatload
of mumbo jumbo double talk crap!!!!
Secondly, didn't their used to be some limits as
to when domains would be deleted once they were submitted for deletion by
their registrars?
Also, does it look to anyone else like perhaps
the rules have been changed in order to give Version's WLS a possible
advantage in the future? Maybe it's just me being paranoid, but that sure
is what it looks like to me. I've certainly never waited this long (9
weeks) for a domain to drop after it's been submitted to drop in the
past.
Suggestions? Comments? Experiences?
Thanks,
Mark
