While we're on the subject, I was rather surprised to be able to make some changes yesterday via phone (regular netsol phone number). Although I am listed as the admin contact, and in the past was always able to use an email template to make changes, I had thought that I would no longer have the authority to do this under their new system. The person I got asked me some info (all of which was listed on the whois) and he gave me the account number on the phone and then emailed me a password within 5 min. I had seriously thought we were going to be SOL on this domain as the registrants mailing address had changed and the admin contact was no more, including the admin email address. I had only phoned in the first place to find out where the Fax forms were now kept on the new site.
Maybe they bend a few rules for old accounts that used to rely on the email templates. They ****BETTER**** still support email templates! When I had to change my details, it took MONTHS, and it was because they supported ONLY email templates for older accounts. The newer accounts supposedly had simpler ways of working. Even though I paid them recently, etc... My account was considered old because I opened it earlier. If you try to change domain details, there SHOULD be an option to get an email template. It is made FOR YOU. You have to modify it as indicated, and send it USING THE SAME EMAIL ACCOUNT, and pray it works. What if you DON'T have the same email account? Then is when they run you through the mill. Since I travel a lot, this took me months. Oh yeah, they will do it when/if they get around to it.
