UK also has about 30% of the population of the entire USA.

Other interesting trivia is that the .gb ccTLD is managed by Nominet too,
but as yet they have not decided to allow registrations. I think the UK may
be unique in having 2 ccTLD's associated with it.

GB & the UK are actually different.

GB is Great Britain, which comprises mainly of England, Wales & Scotland; it
includes the adjacent islands but not the Channel Islands or the Isle of
Man.

The UK is the "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland".
