Darlene - this policy is closely linked with the whois policy found
here: http://resellers.tucows.com/opensrs/com_net_org/whois_policy
Our basic intention is to ensure that the registrant and reseller are
working together towards the interests of the registrant. Practically
speaking, what you are doing doesn't sound off-base. Strictly speaking
from a "letter of the law" perspective, it would be even more
appropriate if the registrant designated your firm as the technical
contact. This would protect both parties from all sorts of nastiness
that can arise from we said/they said accusations that pop up on a
regular basis. If you are listed in the whois in this manner, then it is
a reasonable assumption that the registrant is aware of the nature of
the relationship.
Hope this clarifies rather than confuses. Drop me a note if I can
clarify further.
