Verisign monopolistic attitudes continue... will they ever end?

Verisign rejects any attempts to add newly create .org based nameserver
hosts to .com or .net domains.

You can't even add them via the RWI 'add nameserver hosts to foreign
registries'. You get a big fat request denied error.

I confirmed with OpenSRS Support:

This is indeed a problem. However the solution is in Verisign's hands.

Basically since they moved the .ORG registry off their servers, they're no
longer accepting .ORG nameserver registrations in the .COM/NET registry.
I've been told is supposed to last 30 days from the time of the registry
switchover. So we should know soon what Verisign will be doing about
this.

Unfortunately the onlyworkaround I know of is registering a .com/net
nameserver with the same IP address as the .org nameserver, so that at
least the queries end up in the right place.
