Hi All

In the past nameservers that were not .com .net or .org had to have host
records registered with Verisign in order for registries to be able to
lookup these records when customers assigned these nameservers to their
domain names.

Since November 2002 Verisign seems to have done away with this
altogether and 3 host records which we previously had registered are now
gone from their database. A lengthy phone call to Verisign did not solve
the problem nor answer any of my questions as to why they have done this
and what is to be done about it.

This does not seem to be causing any serious problems except that some
domain registration services do not pick up the IP address of the
nameserver and it has to be entered manually, this is because many of
these services still seem to be using the old method of checking
Verisign's database for a corresponding host record.

Anyone with any feedback or help on this please.

Regards
Mitch
