Foreign nameservers are nameservers outside of your standard TLD - so if your domain is a .com domain, the foreign nameservers would include .info, .org, .name, etc.
If you run a DNS server and someone in these "other" domains wants to use your DNS server, the name must be registered with the "foreign" registries who require name registration. I believe the only way to currently do this is through the RWI. -t > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Ken Kaprielian > Sent: Tuesday, February 18, 2003 4:05 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: add domain to foreign registries > > > Mike, > > Could you tell me what is meant by "foreign" Are we talking > about nameservers in China or those not specifically OpenSRS? > > I have a couple of nameservers (.com) that have been around > for a while and am wondering if there is any benefit to do > this.
