Registry Expiration Date: 30-mar-2004
Network Solutions Registrar Record expires on 30-Mar-2003.

It is explained in the NOTICE included in the registry WHOIS:

> NOTICE: The expiration date displayed in this record is the date the
> registrar's sponsorship of the domain name registration in the registry is
> currently set to expire. This date does not necessarily reflect the expiration
> date of the domain name registrant's agreement with the sponsoring
> registrar. Users may consult the sponsoring registrar's Whois database to
> view the registrar's reported date of expiration for this registration.

Reason #1

The registry recently started showing the registry expiration date of a
domain. The expiration date could possibly be different between the
registry and registrar if the domain was automatically renewed by the
registry at the end of the registration term and the registrar has not yet
collected payment from the registrant. The registrar will not change the
date in the registrar database until they have received payment.

Reason #2

This NOTICE was added recently by Verisign Registry to provide an *excuse*
for Network Solutions Registrar's practice of not recognizing remaining
registration time from a losing registrar when transferring a domain to
Network Solutions (Network Solutions is a Verisign company).

Reason #1 is probably similar to the official response you would receive
from Verisign Registry or Network Solutions, but reason #2 is probably
closer to reality.
