Okay, I was curious, so I had to test this out using our wildcard cert... > 1. You can have *.tucows.com > this would work for mail.tucows.com, secure.tucows.com etc. but not > secure.mail.tucows.com
MSIE5.5 works as described above. You get a certificate name does not match site name warning when trying to access anything other than somehost.domain.ext Mozilla 1.3 actually allows you to access this.somehost.domain.ext, that.this.somehost.domain.ext, etc.etc.etc.that.this.somehost.domain.ext Mozilla only complains about the cert not matching domain.ext I wonder of this is by design or a bug. ...not sure how other browsers behave...
