Doesn't he mean "more unpopular"? His greed is exceeded by his arrogance.
It appears that he thinks that turning the root servers over to corporations will improve security.
From what I've seen most of the large security holes (many of them still out there) are caused by corporations worried more about their bottom line, than delivering a solid product.
