Or just trick you in viewing a porn page/exploit whatever page you would 
have avoided if it weren't a request to check your data?
*You* surely would notice that it's not a legitimate mail, but others?

Remember, this means that it is *guaranteed* that all com/net and whatever 
TLD owners get a message of this kind *each* year. What a nonsense. It 
means a guaranteed target vector for spamming. And those spams will have a 
chance to be looked at ... It will greatly increase support requests and 
will make people wary about the legitimacy of the request.
I wonder, though, depending on how Tucows makes them appear, if they might 
get caught in spam filters around the world ...
