Yup.  Same here.

Likewise.  I'd venture to guess that less than 1 in 10 of the registrant
contacts for our registered domains has the login and password to get into the
management web interface.  Mostly, they're held by us and given to technicians
or web developers for the domain.

How about the option to just bag the whole f*****g mess and avoid the confusion
this is going to cause for absolutely no benefit to anyone?

How many other registrars are actually complying with this ICANN "requirement"?
