Hi Swerve, We did make changes to the RWI affecting only IDN's. Namely we removed the UTF-8 encoding of the registration pages & require that all IDN names be submitted as punycode (xn--*.com) There is also a link to the IDN conversion tool for this purpose at the bottom of the RWI main menu.
Hope this helps. James -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Swerve Sent: April 22, 2004 5:04 PM To: OpensrsDiscuss Subject: ? about 1. IDN Enhancements Promoted to LIVE Will this affect resellers who only use the quickstart gui? tx, sW Greetings, Please read the following important announcement concerning Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs). 1. IDN Enhancements Promoted to LIVE ---------- Effective today, OpenSRS enhancements to support the conversion of .com and .net domains from Row-based ASCII-Compatible Encoding (RACE) to punycode are available in the LIVE environment. These enhancements were made because the registry operator for .com and .net will stop supporting RACE registrations as of 25 April 2004. Tucows was required to convert all active .com and .net IDNs from RACE to punycode. This conversion is now complete.
