Not sure what you mean by "partial branding" at this point (the quoting of the conversation is pretty tough to follow - sorry!) Nonetheless, both the Copyright Tucows issue and the redirect issue have been addressed and will be promoted this week. The copyright has simply been removed from those pages (don't ask, but it turns out this was the most right/quickest way of dealing with it...). As far as the redirects go, users who go to 'login.customURL.com' will be redirected to /admin/ instead of www.blogware.com. Users who go to www.blogware.com directly will still be redirected to blog.blogware.com.
The distinction between /user and /admin will also be lost later this week. I'm not sure how this will directly affect the issues that I think you were describing, so let me know how the new structure works out for you and your customers.
