Just in case anyone doesn't know, Tucows provides two options. Tucows can send renewal notices on your behalf or you can send your own. We have our account configured so that Tucows sends us a daily notice and then our system automatically sends a renewal notice with a URL like you describe. Our notices go out 90, 60, 30, 5 days before and the day of expiry.
