1. Update: Impending ICANN Changes to Transfer Policy
----------------

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN)
recently introduced a new domain transfer policy designed to simplify
gTLD transfers between Registrars. Tucows will
implement the new policy on 11 November 2004 in order to be fully
compliant with these new requirements. The new transfer policy will prevent inappropriate or fraudulent transfer denials from losing registrars.

The most significant changes to the existing domain transfer policies
include:

** Standardized forms: As part of this revised policy, ICANN requires
standardized text for the Transfer Authorization and Transfer Confirmation forms. These forms must be used for all gTLD (COM, NET, ORG, BIZ, INFO, NAME) and registrar-to-registrar transfers. Approved translations will be provided in French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Mandarin), Dutch and Italian as a courtesy (Note: an English version will always accompany the translations).

Is there a way to introduce new translations? I mean probably most of the board members at ICANN speak good Mandarin, but this is not necessarily true for our clients...
