If you mean deleting, as far as I know OpenSRS requires a court order.
I mean an owner who no longer wishes to have any claim to a domain name turning it back in to the available name pool. Forfeiting all rights and any remaining registration-years on the domain. I suppose the owner can always change the owner name and email to someone that does or doesn't exist, but it seems there should be a way to divorce yourself from the name. This should also release any association of the name with a registrar or reseller.
Releasing a domain is possible. This is not an automated process, but our compliance team <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> can issue a DELETE for a domain. In order to delete it, we'll need to see proof of ownership.
Please have the listed registrant/owner send a signed fax or scan with government photo i.d. (passport or driver's license) stating that you as owner of the domain authorize the deletion of said domain.
Please fax this to 416-531-2516 attn: Compliance/Paul.
Compliance will then follow up with an email to the admin contact asking for confirmation of the deletion.
