That is a problem with a clueless gaining registrar.  "Status:CLIENT
DELETE PROHIBITED" does not mean the domain is locked.  If the domain in
question is showing "Status:CLIENT DELETE PROHIBITED" then it is unlocked.

Personally I would never do business with a registrar that didn't
understand something as basic as this, however I know that at least one
registrar insists that "CLIENT DELETE PROHIBITED" means the domain is
locked from transfers.

The status that prohibits a registrar transfer is "Status:CLIENT TRANSFER
PROHIBITED"
