My workstation is an IA64 RHEL 5.1 system that is not well supported. I
execute firefox (3.6.17) from the Gnome panel as /usr/bin/ssh -X boslc03
/opt/firefox/firefox
One issue I was having this week was that on some websites (Gmail, a
vendor fulfillment, and a couple of others), the 2, 7, upper case O, and
upper case T displayed as bigger than the rest of the characters. What
was really strange is that running locally on a vSphere VM running RHEL
5.5 using the same firefox (/opt is exported) the fonts were normal.
Additionally running the same firefox from a gnome-terminal logged into
either the VM or boslc03, everything was fine. After doing my tests, I
restarted firefox from the panel and the fonts were fine. I tend to
power off the workstation over the weekend because the building shuts
off AC. I run Thunderbird using a similar command, and the fonts in
T-Bird were fine. It seems to be a very intermittent thing.

Just a minor PIA.
