I had the belief, by looking at it, that it was approx the same size &
number of pins as the normal sata connection, but did not look like it was
physically compatible with a sata connection.  I guess I'll have to verify.


Note the plastic "bridge" between the signal and power connections on the SAS drive, compared to the open space between the connectors on the SATA device. The SATA cable I have won't fit the SAS connector because of that, even though the electrical pads look exactly the same.
