LVM isn't AdvFS.  Then again, it's not a file system component like most 
logical volume managers.  LVM (actually LVM2) is a container for block devices. 
 If you treat it as a block device container then it works perfectly.  If you 
treat it as part of the file system then it will eventually bite your face off.
