The Tor installation script for Red Hat based distros also installs a file that sets up the Tor yum repository:

/etc/yum.repos.d/torproject.repo

You could also rm this file. Doing that as well as

yum erase tor

will erase everything that the script installed.

Also, when the script starts Tor after it installs it, _almost_ certainly Tor will NOT be able to establish two way communications with the Tor network due to port forwarding issues.

So testing the script tests Tor installation -- but not entry to the Tor network.
