Most small routers limit users to the 192.168.x.x ranges. Even if a router allowed use of the 172.16~ or 10~ spaces on it's "LAN" ports, there's no guarantee that a corporate renumbering wouldn't strand the router anyway. I'd say it's unlikely, but every time I do, there's a little voice in my head whispering "Famous Last Words ... ".
