Well, it is getting weird now: it has been running for two days, it ate
up aroud 78-80% of memory while being run by valgrind but it didn't
crash. So for some reason it just stopped consuming memory, but it
consumed plenty before that.
Valgrind output doesn't contain anything useful, I will try to dig into
this deeper.
