Hello to anyone reading this. I'm writing this to suggest an idea. I
have not, as yet, installed LibreOffice. I working with the assumption
that for now it is similar to OpenOffice.org.
I was creating a presentation in OpenOffice.org and set the background
as a gradient. I noted that you actually had to use Draw to add new
gradients in OOo. I drew a rectangle in Draw, right-clicked on it and
chose Area -- Gradient, created my new gradient then pasted it into the
presentation's master slide. I believe that the location of the dialog
to create/delete or modify gradients is a bit odd. I'd suggest as an
alternative to create something, for lack of better words, "Mission
Control". "Mission Control" could serve to replace the Options Dialog
in LibreOffice and do more. I'd think if implemented properly it could
be the spot to, among other things, add/remove/modify gradients and add
new templates for all programs (re-initializing templates when done, so
new templates are available), Set options for the various programs
(Writer, Draw, etc). Others who are more familiar with LibreOffice
could probably imagine further uses for "Mission Control". Give it a
better name too.
So, as for my example, when I bring up the 'Gradient Dialog' in any
program (Writer, Draw, Impress, etc.) It will show a link or button and
read something along the lines of "To add/remove or modify gradient,
launch Mission Control".
I hope this makes sense. I'm sorry I have no programming or coding
skills to help implement it.
