Here are the results... close but not quite a cigar (yet): 1. beta2 does not interfere with the base OOo 3.2.1 install (they both work on the same system). 2. Unfortunately, beta2 still removes all system associations with OOo, so if you right click on an .odp you are offered two choices (assuming you also have M$Office installed): - LibreOffice Impress - Microsoft PowerPoint No 'OpenOffice.org Impress' to be found. This means that an OOo user now needs to go back an re-associate .odt, .odp etc again. Unfortunately it gets worse... there is no longer OOo to select from if you right click a file and select 'Open With|Choose Program', only LibO and MS$. Further you can't add the OOo association back bia 'Browse' to your OOo program files, as LibO is using scale.exe (see #3 below). 3.
