I didn't want to file a bug because I thought it was a simple website
error. That's why I asked if others had had a similar experience.
Maybe there is some other discussion forum where I could have asked?
As it happens, I found the answer by accident, which was fortunate.

user mailing list is set up for user help. You can find the information
on this page[1]. FYI, it's a pretty busy list and we try to help as much
as possible with our volunteer time.
If you have any problems, feel free to leave a note on that particular
list.
Hope you keep your LibreOffice, it's really worth it.
