The world could also have woken up one morning to the announcement that the ASF was standing in solidarity with the TDF, supported TDFs move to bring more openness and freedom to OpenOffice, was convinced by the rapid strides they have made in improving OpenOffice and the great swell of community support that TDF was the proper place for it, and that they did not want to do anything that could divide and hurt the community of an important project like LibreOffice/OpenOffice. But the world didn't hear that, either.
