Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the correct list for my question.

It is in regard to TDF.

 But don't you
represent the OpenDocument format?

No. TDF does not "represent" the OpenDocument format, but it provides LibreOffice which is an application that uses the OpenDocument format as main format.

Looking around in the web I can find a lot of Python packages for reading and writing files in OpenDocument format. Based on the last commit date and the count of Issues and RPs, all of them seem unmaintained and out-dated.

TDF is not responsible for those packages nor is it OASIS.

Are you willing to help in development? Then you should get in contact with the developers of those packages. https://opendocumentformat.org/developers/ lists four packages. Perhaps those are suitable for you?

Are you aware of an active project offering a Python package to write and read OpenDocument format files?

Why do you need a Python package instead of using LibreOffice? The API of LibreOffice can be used from Python.

In case Java is OK for you and you need something independent from LibreOffice, you might have a look at ODF Toolkit https://tdf.github.io/odftoolkit/

Do you officially support such a project?

As far as I know, currently no such project exists under the umbrella of TDF.

Kind regards,
Regina
