Hey guys. It's Ringo Kamens. and I was wondering if I could get some help on a project I'm working on. Basically, it's a ad-hoc network for file sharing using network shares. You can also use ftp servers or other file-sharing services. The basic idea is that people have a shared folder and log into this network to share and download files.
I'm looking for people to help me set up this network.
I have set up a ad-hoc wherever my computer goes, and I would like assistance.
Basically, this network is anonymous because no part of it can be traced back to you unless somebody hacks into your machine or you make your computer name your actual name.
The SSID for this network is:
WIFIFILES
Here's how to set up an ad-hoc network if one isn't already in your location
Right click on the wireless connection icon in your toolbar and select view available wireless networks. Now click on advanced and then add a wireless network. Make the SSID WIFIFILES, disable WEP, and enable ad-hoc at the bottom. Then select ok, ok, and ok, to get back to the main menu.
Along with people sharing files and using the network, I need somebody to host a small site for it.
I am also in need of a chat client for ad-hoc networks as that would be very cool.
