Oi, I should have put [NYC LOCAL] in the subject line!

Nelson, I agree.  I know the NYU Free Culturists have considered
starting such a general discussion list.  I hope they do start a
such a general list.  There is today only an announcements list,
although it is not labeled 'announcements only'.
