Hmmm... Well, ORG covers much of the same ground as EFF does in the US, Free
Culture UK has kind of stagnated slightly recently to be honest... But there's
still a few interesting projects going on. Tom Chance and Rob Myers have a
project to set up FC chapters in colleges and Universities, there's the Open
Knowledge Foundation and various related projects - public domain burn and
transmission.cc are both pretty interesting. There's a few local groups: Remix
Reading, deptford.tv and FC-Dundee are probably the most active. I'm currently
trying to set up a cc-salon in london which I hope will galvanise some sort of
FC community here... Anyone who wants to get involved is more than welcome!

Cheers,

Tim

Subject: [FC-discuss] England?!

Hi all,

Might be a question that's answered somewhere obvious but I thought
I'd ask what's going on in England, Free Culture student movement ways
(wise?).

I know there are a few things happening related to free culture more
broadly, such as the Open Rights group who I've just discovered and
also iCommons are having a summit soon (not to mention my own project
- Free Me [http://questionsplease.org/freeme/]...smooth plug hey!).

Yours kindly,

Jon
