Hello Everyone, Hope everyone had an awesome summer! Now that the academic year has come to a start, we want to introduce the new SFC Board:
- Adelaida McIntire (Campaign & Outreach Coordinator) - Jennifer Baek (Conference Coordinator) - Kaiya a.k.a "Kira" (Technology Director & Webmaster) - Firas Al Kafri (New Member & Chapter Coordinator) - Preston Bennett (Treasurer) Kaiya has updated the Free Culture website with our bios ( http://freeculture.org/about/). We're all pumped to create a robust year for SFC and laydown a strong foundation for the next board and future of the organization. We are doing a top to bottom review of the organization and setting goals that we want to accomplish this year. These include: - Rebooting our web presence entirely - Creating lots of educational resources on free culture - Putting on an awesome SFC Conference We'd also like recommendations from the Free Culture community on what our goals should be as well as input on: - Free culture and free software projects that we should collaborate with or promote - Important issues that we should address and discuss on the blog or elsewhere - Wiki pages that need drafting (e.g. Introduction to free software, Why Copyleft, Comparison of free software communication/social networking platforms/protocols) With these we will compile a queue of activities to keep Students for Free Culture super busy all year, and provide the resources that people need to join the movement.
