NEW BANDWIDTH PROVIDER EMERGES

A pair of former Level 3 veterans, armed with an acquisition war chest of
almost a quarter of a billion dollars, has begun buying up small bandwidth
providers around the country, melding them into a new, larger company they've
christened Zayo Bandwidth. The market target is carriers, government,
enterprises and other major bandwidth users. The grand plan is to put together
a company offering bandwidth service in smaller metropolitan areas where the
major Tier 1 bandwidth providers don't provide service. Zayo would then "fill
in the gaps," providing service to, perhaps, an enterprise with a branch or
factory located in one of those areas.
