As things are now, one must select the kanji, click on format->asian phonetic guide and manually enter the furigana. アジア言語ガイドのウィンドウでは、選択した漢字に自動的にふりがな(or ル ビ)を表示する機能があったり追加できる。たとえば、漢字を選択して、 [format](書式)->[asian phonetic guide](アジア言語ガイド)をクリック、手動 でふりがなを入力する。 (Furigana are syllabic characters giving the pronunciation of kanji (ideograms)). (ふりがなは、漢字の読み方を表す文字になります) In MS word, the furigana is entered in automatically and one can change it if need be. This greatly increases productivity when writing Japanese texts since depending on the literacy of the targeted reader, one sometimes has to add furigana to nearly every kanji. This can be a very long process when done manually. This format is also very common in other medias such as small news articles or various announcements. 複合テキストレイアウトを日本語でサポートする： 日本語のテキストレイアウトでは、普通、左から右へ上からしたへ記述するし、 個人的な手紙のような伝統的な書き方では、縦書きで右から左へ記述する。この 書式は、小さなニュース記事や案内文なんかでもよく使われる。 This would be a very useful function to add to Openoffice.
