I see what you are talking about in IE6...the slidedown happens in waves. It seems like each element of the enclosed table appears in a burst, followed by a short pause. I don't know if it would help, but the markup there looks a lot "heavier" than it needs to be--six nested divs and a table inside that. Maybe simplifying the markup would help IE act better?
