seems to be fixed in FF, but still has a problem in IE.  I assume this is due to the JQuery bug you mentioned?

yes, there is a bug in fx part. I fixed it already and will be on-line today. I also submitted a bug regarding float on IE with the solution. I hope someone can take some time to fix css('float') in jQuery.

turned off during the animation.  Or something.
    

Must be a CSS issue, seems to work fine for me:
http://john.jquery.com/jquery/test/float.html

Make sure that all the floated elements have a display of block, that
might help.
