Go back to another perspective (Java/Resource) and rightclick build.xml -> Run as... -> Ant build... The following dialog allows you to configure ant, you should activate to refresh the project upon completition. In the targets tab, you can choose which targets you want to build (jQuery, packed, tests, docs etc.). It is not actually easier to setup, but once you got it running, its much easier to use.
