Hi, i think most people are using firefox with the firebug extension to test their code. There you can explore your html/css and debug your javascript code.
There is also another debugger around at http://www.mozilla.org/projects/venkman/. There is also a tool in creation called helpermonkey. It can count the number of executions for each function.
