You will make yourself miserable trying. If, in your research, you can find a good outline of all the differnces between the table implementations, please let me know. I've gone and created a grid that is based on spans because the features I sought could not be had cross-browser in tables. http://blogometer.com/repository/etude/jQuery/grid/grid-three/grid.html Most of what people talk about in Web 2.0 are SPAN and DIV.
