I agree. If $().submit() was not defined I'd be content with
$('#form')[0].submit(); This is very clear, and leads to a leaner jQ
code base -- which is (I believe) a major factor in people's decision to
adopt jQ (besides its sheer elegance). By not throwing the whole kit &
caboodle into jQ base via DOM macros/wrappers, users will a) learn a
little more about inherit DOM functions b) may complain about this ;)
For the record, I'd like to see jQ not exceed 25k compressed ;) I don't
know if this will be a reality or not -- but support any movement
towards reduced code size vs. non necessary convenience.
