I've made it so that the search kicks in 250 miliseconds after the  
_last_ keypress, so not a set time after the first, but a set time  
after the last. This means that I store a window.SetTimeout on a  
variable, that I then clear on each keydown. This allows the user to  
type to his hearts desire, stop and see what happens. Slow typists  
will get frequent updates.

not the "right" way, just my way :)
