I stand corrected! I've seen multiple ajax requests.... perhaps they were
getting done 2 at a time! good to know!

Well, you do not necessarily have to believe me, but it's even part of
the HTTP 1.1 specification.
"Clients that use persistent connections SHOULD limit the number of
simultaneous connections that they maintain to a given server. A
single-user client SHOULD NOT maintain more than 2 connections with
