Under the GPL, I think you would need need to if you are packaging up your site and distributing it. But if it is a web site that you are hosting (even if you are selling subscriptions/memberships) then this does not count as distribution and so you would not need to license your site at all. The MIT license appears to be much more flexible and gives you the freedom to distribute without making your site available under the same license in turn. But you do have to retain certain copyright notices (and in any case it is polite to give credit where it is due anyway :-).
