Looks like Mika forgot that not all people use FireBug (although all js/html developers pretty much should) :). It's a pretty common error and easy to miss, since if you have FireBug installed, you get no errors. Just when we're all getting used to actually _finding_ all the errors with the FireBug. Actually now checking the file you mentioned (http://www.appelsiini.net/~tuupola/jquery/jeditable/lib/jquery.jeditable.js), there is no mention of "console" there, especially not on line 159 (which is an empty line).
