Interesting read, thanks for pointing it out. So, the big 3 companies will continue to exist and dominate cloud computing. That's the wrong way to put it, IMHO. The real question is: is the user's autonomy going to be protected and how? The other question that is totally missing from the picture is: what about autonomy in the mobile space? There is very little debate around this and only few free software projects that build structure to offer mobile cloud services [full disclosure: I work for one of these]. I'm doing some research on this topic for a BoF at OSCON but so far I find that cell phone users have less options to meet FaiF software and services than desktop computer users. I'd be interested to know other mobile cloud computing services that can be considered close to the Franklin statement.
